100,000 Cims! Also, an Overview of Neo South Auckland with #CitiesSkylines2

Blowing past the critical population milestone, and an overview of my first Cities Skylines 2 heading into 2024

Before we go into the Overview, a quick announcement

100,000 Cims

Durring the Xmas-New Year block I did some Cities Skylines 2 play off stream getting ready to set up my City Centre video when we managed to do this:

100,000 Cims

Yep we hit 100,000 Cims in our very first Cities Skylines 2 without nuking the video card nor the City itself. 100,000 is the critical milestone in CS1 and CS2 where the high density zones basically take off as the City becomes self sustaining through births over deaths rather than huge amounts of mass migration as you get in a normal city (typically). And in typical fashion I completely blew past the 100,000 milestome to hit 134,000 by the time of the Overview video below.

Neo South Auckland: An Overview going into 2024

As I managed to spend Quarter 4 of 2023 with Cities Skylines 2 in its current barebones base game version, learning the trade again after eight years of Mods and DLCs was always going to be interesting in my first CS2 city. But we did it. Neo South Auckland is a thriving and still rapidly growing city nudging 135,000 by the end of the overview video and surpassing 140,000 by the time I finished the next batch of transit ride videos (see my YouTube Channel)

As we go into 2024 I take an overview of where Neo South Auckland is before we start developing the City Centre from its foundational phase.

Through the video we will talk about the Spatial Planning and the methodologies I use as well as go through all the menu insights available in the game (which triggered a Game acheivement). These menu insights help form decision I make through the game which in turn help how I influence behaviours and spatial forms to meet the goals of the Spatial Plan (the very essence of Spatial Planning itself).

So what can you discover about Neo South Auckland as it goes past 135,000 cims? More in the video!
