Bikes Update for #citiesskylines2 | Also Multi-Modal Transit in Action

One of the transport’s GOATS modes long missing from Cities Skylines’ successor finally tp make its long-awaited debut!

Cycling and cycle infrastructure, one of the GOAT’s (Greatest Of All Time) in terms of moving people and goods around efficiently inside an urban area. Cycling shares that GOAT podium alongside rail and when the two work together in an integrated fashion do you get the most OP (overpowered) form of land transport you will ever get!

In Cities Skylines 1, I always made the effort for proper bike infrastructure so cycling was fully enabled whether the cim used it as the sole mode of transport or as part of a multi-modal journey. When it came to Cities Skylines 2, the absence of cycling and cycle infrastructure meant a big piece of the transport puzzle was missing. And yes it does impact your land use and transport planning as a consequence!

But one of the GOATs in terms of transport that was there in Cities Skylines 1 seems to be about to return in Cities Skylines 2! In the video below I walk through an update from Colossal Order on where the state of the game is in preparation for the return of the bike!

Also Multi-Modal Transit in Action?

As I was recording the video, I decided to follow a cim on their journey to their work place. What I did not know then was a demonstration on why Bikes and Rail (this case Monorail) are the ultimate GOAT’s when they work together. The bike provided the first and last mile transport to and from the rapid transit spine that was the monorail. Thus extending the reach of the transit system! Also known as multi-modal transit in action!

A great kudos for this Pacifica City mayor knowing that their planning and transport system is actually working!

As for when bikes will be available for CS2? As of this post the date of release is unknown.
